Renny Gonzalez is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and a co-owner of Teknica, teaching alongside Josh across the school's kids, teens, and adult classes. He received his black belt from Michel "Buiu" Pereira, and he brings the same standard to the academy floor: clean technique, honest training, and a room where everyone gets better together.
A two-time IBJJF Miami Open gold medalist, Renny still competes, and he coaches with a competitor's eye for the small adjustments that turn a technique from almost working into working. He is as comfortable breaking down a guard pass for a first-week white belt as he is preparing a student for their next tournament.
Teaching Philosophy
Renny's classes are built on repetition with a purpose. He would rather a student leave knowing three positions cold than twenty they half remember, and he checks in constantly to make sure the detail landed. With Teknica's younger students, he leans on structure and encouragement, giving kids clear goals they can hit and the kind of steady feedback that builds real confidence rather than noise.
